March 2010

Meet my Soul Sista Jaime, we have been friends for 13 years now….13 YEARS! We met at my first job when I was 17 and she was 19, we were just wee little ones back then! The two have us have been through just about everything you can imagine, heart breaks, new births, death and everything in-between. I am happy to call her one of my closest and dearest friends! No matter what Jaime and I have been able to love and accept each other for who we are even if it was different from the other. And have a killer time with each other in the meantime!

When Jaime turned 21 it was a little more difficult for us to hang out since I had TWO WHOLE YEARS until I was going to be 21 can you imagine!  And of course she was wanting to go out dancing and have all the fun the 21 years old have and here I was still 19. But being the good friend that Jaime is she waited for me to catch up and I was able to join in on the fun. Gotta love downtown Olympia! : )

Well I am now in the fading light of my 20′s with my 30th birthday fast approaching on April 11th. And again Jaime has had to wait for me a WHOLE TWO YEARS to join her in what I think is an exciting new adventure, our 30′s. Thank you Jaime for your love and friendship I love you dearly and here is to more KILLER moments together in our 30′s!

Here are a few photos from our girls night out this weekend!

This weekend I was happy to be in Spokane with my family for a basketball tournament….no not for the NCAA tournament, the Spokane Stars one. : ) We stayed with family while we were there which is always full of great stories and lots of laughs. When John and his brother get together its pure entertainment to just listen to the two of them giggle.

Yesterday Sierra was getting ready for work and when she was done she looked so cute! She had on a floral skirt and some cowboy boots, I had to take a few pictures! I was able to convince her to come outside for 5 minutes to get a few shots and I am so happy that we did! Sierra is such a beautiful girl inside and out. She is a very driven girl with a self-confidence that many of us would kill for. I feel lucky to be a small part of her life and have truly enjoyed seeing her grow into the beautiful young lady that she is. Thanks Sierra for putting up with me and allowing me capture the beauty that you are.

Look at those eyes!

Saturday night in bed working on designing all new products and 11:45  rolls in and John looks over and says, “you have been at this all day, I don’t know where you find the focus.” I realized wow I have been at this all day and not once did I wish I was doing something else. Actually I was looking forward to it all week. That is not to say that there wasn’t yelling at the computer “I hate technology” and “why won’t you work” but I really WAS enjoying what I was doing. I wondered where does the focus come from?

Honestly I don’t know where it comes from I just know it’s there and I am so grateful! I feel so blessed to know what my dream is and even more blessed that I have the opportunity to follow it! Thank you to my whole family for your support and believing in me. I LOVE YOU ALL!

Here is a new album I am really excited about appropriately named  The Dreamy Album:

I love movies, I really do. I love all kinds of movies with the exception of horror movies and scary movies I am pretty much down for anything. I went and saw Alice in Wonderland this Friday, yes in 3D of course. And it was really amazing. I was thinking wouldn’t it be so cool to have a studio like wonderland, but like Wonderland when Alice is really small. So all the flowers and grass look huge, everything is super over sized. Seriously that would be awesome!  But that’s not what I wanted to talk about. Something really cool happened when I was telling a friend about the movie. I started going into how I loved the movie but I just wished that the lighting was a little brighter. I know they were going for a more dramatic look but it just seemed a little dark to me. I realized that this was the first time that I was critiquing a movies lighting. I feel like something is changing in me. Photography is becoming more and more a part of just how I see the world. I see photos everywhere I go, and I LOVE it.: )

Thank you Alice in Wonderland.

Here are some pictures from a recent session:

This weekend Jamie and her family came to the studio to have some maternity photos done and I feel so honored to have been able to work with them. Jamie is probably one of the most genuine people I have ever met, ever! The first time I met her I felt completely comfortable. She really is amazing you feel good just being around her. She has amazing girls so full of life and love. The whole family was wonderful and just a breath of fresh air to work with. Oh and did I mention BEAUTIFUL! They are all beautiful. Thank you all for coming in!

Here are two from the session:

This February I had the extreme pleasure of attending my first photography workshop called Perspectives. It was held at Julie Klaasmeyers  AMAZING studio in Paola KS. Along with Julie, Lori Nordstrom and Kay Eskridge created one of the coolest experiences that I have ever been a part of. It felt so good to be around people with the same interest and mind-set as me. I mean most people don’t want to talk photography or photography business for hours on end. At this workshop I just felt like I was at home. I can’t thank these ladies enough for being so open and willing to share what they do to help teach others and help us accomplish our dreams. I was truly inspired by each of them and cherish the time I spent with them and everyone that attended. THANK YOU!

Here are some of the pictures I took while there.
