So without further ado here are some more RANTS & RAVES from yours truly...

Current RANTS:

  1. Living in Washington….I mean it’s June people, JUNE! I need some sun. Thank goodness I have some trips lined up and Jergens self tanning lotion.
  2. Waiting for an hour to get in at Darby’s, my favorite breakfast place in Olympia. This really gets me into a fit. So much so that I was threatened with being recorded to document my pathetic whining….Olivia don’t you dare!

Current RAVES:

  1. My new tapered eye brush from Sigmabeauty.com. Girls listen to me you NEED this brush it’s one of the best things I have in my makeup collection I would pay double what I paid for it. IT IS RAD! Yes I said it RAD!: ) It gets the color right where you want it and blends all at the same time…RAD!
  2. Yams, they are so yummy! Fry them up in olive oil and garlic and I am a happy girl.
  3. Darby’s…once I get in there and eat I forget all about how mad I am at waiting. It’s so good once it hits your lips.

So that’s it…I hope you got some enjoyment out of that. Ta-ta for now.

This is a very special session for me. It was my first session after a break I took from photography for a while. It felt so good to get out and shoot again and I couldn’t ask for a more fun little person to photograph. Jaeli is so full of energy and just loves to be in front of the camera just look for yourself!: )

So as you may have noticed I have taken a little break from my blog….or maybe you haven’t, just hoping out loud.: ) Anyways,  when I don’t have a session to post I have a really hard time thinking of things to write about. I know for those of you who know me well, this will sound completely impossible. But, I thought why not occasionally talk about the things that I am currently ranting and raving about. You see whether I’m totally excited about something new or completely done with whatever is getting in my way, I am always passionate about something. And yes, I will admit that most of the time I can get a little carried away.

So here is to my very first RANTS & RAVES...

Current RANTS:

Being sick for over 3 weeks and coughing for no particular reason. I mean serisously…I have never been this sick!

SLOW computers…don’t even get me started. Being in a room with me and a slow computer scares even the bravest people.

Current RAVES:

Double shots of Nyquil…thank you Dad for making this OK!

Remake of “Look at me now” by KarminMusic…I am posting this later than I hoped so many of you have probably already seen this AMAZING video.

A-ha moments that break you down…more on that later.

So that’s it…I hope you got some enjoyment out of that. Ta-ta for now.

I was so happy to get outside and photograph this wonderful family recently. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day after 30 or more days of straight rain! I know it’s ridiculous but hey what can we expect living in Washington? David and Becky have such a nice family you can really feel the love they have for their children, it was really wonderful to watch. Thank you for allowing me to document your family! : )

Here are some of my favorites from our session:

I had such a great time on this photo shoot. Luckily the weather was Awesome! The sun must have known we had something going on and decided to grace us with its presence. It has been so long since I have seen this little family and it was so good to reunite and take some photos. This family is so happy together it really is great to witness, they seem to really enjoy life! I can’t believe Colin is already 4 years old, he is so amazing and so incredibly cute! Thank you guys for sharing your nature path with me I had a fab time hanging out! Love you!

Here are some picks from our session:

I had the privilege of meeting Awan’s family this weekend and taking some family photos of them for the Holidays. I could tell that it was a little weird at first for them to be in front of the camera. And I completely understand. You would think oh it’s just pictures that’s easy. But as soon as you see that camera you are thinking oh no what do I do with my hands, where do I look, am I smiling or are we doing cold blue steel? Your mind either starts racing OR you freeze, either way you feel like you don’t know what to do. That is why I start of with a little magic trick and ask them to, are you ready……start laughing. Yup, that’s it. I ask people to start laughing. I know it sounds ridiculous, and it feels even more awkward but it works and in no time you are really laughing and having a great time in front of my camera. Thank you Awan, Anita and Adam for allowing me to photograph your sweet family!

Here are some of my favorites:

I was so glad to be able to meet this little guy! He is the grandson of an old friend and I have really enjoyed hearing about how much he is loved by his whole family!: ) It was great spending time with his mom and dad too they are just smitten with him and are such wonderful parents already. I am so happy for them and excited to see them grow together as a family. Thanks for coming by to visit!

Olivia, our little actress, will be playing the Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at school in about a week and a half. Her teacher let her know that she would need to provide a costume and gave some great suggestions. Like the well prepared child that Olivia is, she let me know with plenty of time that we needed to come up with something. WELL as we all know that time just flew by and this last Monday she reminded me that she needed a costume.

Olivia – “Kimberly I am getting a little worried about my costume for the play.”

Me - “Oh ya we need to do that don’t we! When do you need it by?”

Olivia – “Tomorrow.”

I love that she was only a “little” worried. : ) Olivia really loved the look of the tutu’s that little girls can get so that is what inspired the design. Luckily for us we had some freak weather and Tuesday, due date of costume, was a snow day! And not only for the girls but for me too, that NEVER happens. Soooo, Sloan and I braved the icy roads and made a little trip to Joann Fabrics to collect all the crafty goodness needed, Oh and did I mention we had to create the costume without sewing. That being said let me just say GLUE GUNS ARE THE BEST THING EVER!!! Sloan and I have already thought of ways to put the gun to good use.

Anyways, I was able to spend that evening with the family watching Gonzaga basketball with a warm fire, and creating a costume fit for a Queen.: ) A fabulous night if I do say. I can’t wait to see Olivia do her thing in the play. She is amazing on stage, just like her daddy!
